Legacy Giving: a gift that lives on

Legacy giving is truly meaningful — it’s a way to create lasting impact that continues well beyond your lifetime.

By including The Bethany Foundation in your Will or estate plans, you help ensure that the values and causes you care about remain part of your life story. Endowment funds allow your gift to support long-term needs, providing comfort and care for generations to come.

As we reflect on our lives, many of us ask, “How will I be remembered?”

A legacy gift is one powerful way to answer that — with kindness, generosity, and purpose.

If you or a loved one has been considering legacy giving, we invite you to reach out. We’d be honoured to speak with you about how your gift can help shape the future.

Therapeutic Bathtubs: comfort, dignity, and care

Regular bathing is essential to health and dignity, but it’s one of the most time-consuming and physically demanding tasks in long-term care. Many of our residents cannot bathe independently and rely on specially designed therapeutic tubs that provide comfort and support while allowing staff to lift them safely.

Over time, these tubs wear out and must be replaced — yet this is not something we receive regular funding for.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we’ve already replaced the three most urgent tubs at Rosehaven Provincial Program in Camrose: Memory Lane, Eastview, and Westview. Each tub costs over $40,000, making this no small achievement.

Our goal is to upgrade or replace a total of 22 tubs across our sites with high-quality Penner Bathing systems. This is a major undertaking — and we need your help to make it possible.

Please consider supporting this essential project. Together, we can make a real difference in the daily lives of those in our care. The new Penner tubs help provide a bathing experience that is tailored to individual needs and comfort through the use of a fast-fill reservoir and by eliminating the need for the use of manual lifts.

The Bethany Group offers both in-house education to employees, as well as Outreach Education to staff in the continuing care system as part of the Rosehaven Provincial Program.

Staff can access e-learning modules and track their progress through The Learning Centre.

The Rosehaven Provincial Program is a resource available across the province for individuals working in continuing care. If you are looking for information about courses, webinars, self-study modules, or PIECES training, please go to Outreach Education.

Education is an important aspect of the organization's services and programs. Acting as a resource for both internal and external staff encourages the competency and development of those working in health.

Outreach Education

Part of the Rosehaven Provincial Program, Outreach Education provides no-fee education sessions for health care providers in all three streams of the Continuing Care System.

Thanks to our generous donors, The Bethany Foundation has brought meaningful improvements, comfort and care to our residents through these completed projects we're proud to share.

  • Blanket Warmers

In long-term care, many residents have limited mobility and can’t easily adjust when they feel cold. Blanket warmers help staff provide warmth and comfort — even though these aren’t funded items. Thanks to donor support, warmers have been installed at Bashaw Meadows, Faith House, and Viewpoint over the past two years.

  • Broda Chairs

For residents who find regular chairs uncomfortable — including those in palliative care or wanting time outside with loved ones — Broda chairs offer crucial support and comfort. The Bethany Foundation has funded one Broda chair for each of our three long-term care sites, with each chair costing approximately $4,900.

  • Sleeper Chair

A designated gift to support palliative care at Memory Lane in Camrose allowed us to purchase a sleeper chair — a chair that easily converts into a bed. It provides visiting family members a comfortable place to stay during long visits or overnight. Each sleeper chair costs around $3,500.
