Creating a Therapeutic Relationship

Delirium
- Define and describe delirium.

Common Forms of Dementia
- Define dementia.
- Identify the Frontal Lobe, Temporal Lobe, Parietal Lobe, Occipital Lobe and Limbic system of the brain and list one symptom that is exhibited with damage to that specific area of the brain.
- List 3 clinical features for the 4 most common types of Dementia: Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy Body Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia, and Vascular Dementia.

Developing Relationships while Maintaining Health Boundaries

Retrogenesis (Stages of Alzheimer Disease)

- Review the stages of Alzheimer Disease and become familiar with the Brief Cognitive Rating Scale and the Functional Assessment Staging in relation to the stages of AD.
- Review a case study and determine the stage of Alzheimer Disease and suggested care strategies.
