Governing Board & Senior Leadership

The Bethany Group Governing Board sets the direction and vision of the organization. Its role is to provide leadership for the organization through a model of governance, which distinguishes its unique job from that of management. The Governing Board continually scans the spiritual, cultural, economic, and political environment in which The Bethany Group operates.

Members of the Governing Board consist of volunteers from in and around the community of Camrose.

Senior Leadership

Chief Executive Officer
Mike Leathwood, CEO, is the only employee of the Governing Board. The primary focus of the Office of the CEO is to lead the organization by maintaining positive relationships with clients, staff, Housing Management Body partners, municipal & provincial governments, and the public at large.

Director, Housing & Community Services
Carla Beck, Director of Housing & Community Services, is responsible for  the operations of The Bethany Group’s and the Housing Management Body partners’ Social & Affordable Housing, as well as Home Care, Crossroads Day Program, Occupational Health & Safety, Pharmacy, and the Education & Outreach programs.

Director, Facility Services
Glen Blatz, Director of Facility Services, is responsible for facility maintenance and capital improvements for The Bethany Group’s and its partners’ housing, as well as the operations of the central laundry and housekeeping services in Camrose.

Director, Financial Services, Information Technology & Asset Strategies
Dave Buist, Director, is responsible for the financial operations, information technology, and long term asset management of The Bethany Group owned housing portfolio. As well, this area oversees the central food services operations in Camrose, new project development, and property facility assessments.

Director, Health Care Facilities & Supportive Living
John Davis, Director of Health Care Facilities & Supportive Living, is responsible for the operations of the Rosehaven Provincial Program, Long Term Care, Designated Supportive Living, and Seniors Lodges.

Director, Human Resources
Lorraine Kiel, Director of Human Resources, is responsible for the human resources within the consolidated operations of The Bethany Group and its Housing Management Body partners. This includes leading recruitment, retention, employee wellness programs, as well as responsibility for health care and supportive living scheduling, payroll for all operations, and disability management.
