Heritage Building & Atrium to be renovated

Posted on March 16, 2018

Alberta Health Services will be undertaking renovations of the Heritage Building and the Atrium connecting it to the Louise Jensen and Rosehaven care centres. This project is part of a $7 million investment into the facilities on the site for necessary renovations.

The Atrium project will include the removal of the existing skylights and the construction of a new sloped roof system. It is expected to begin in April with work to continue for around six months. The new roof will be enclosed but with new tubular daylighting devices that will ensure the space is still bright and airy. As well, new lighting will be installed in several areas throughout the Atrium to help brighten the space.

We will be doing everything possible to ensure activities and programming will not be impacted too much by working with several departments and the contractors.

Later in the year, the windows in the Heritage Building (the old Rosehaven building) will be replaced. When we have more details about this project, we will post an update.

We will keep everyone updated through our website, Facebook page, and on-site.
