Affordable Housing is an option for individuals and families who need assistance finding affordable rental housing. Rent is below the average market rent for that community as set by Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation (CMHC) and the Government of Alberta.
Community Housing is intended for low to moderate income individuals and families. Rent is based on 30% of a household's adjusted income and includes heat, water, and sewer costs.
Rent Supplement Programs
Established by the federal and provincial governments, the rent supplement programs help address the housing need in Alberta.
Please Note: No new applications for rent supplements are being accepted at this time while the existing programs are being reviewed for consistency of benefits and to ensure households that need assistance most are prioritized.
Seniors Subsidized Housing
Independent housing for low to moderate income seniors, Seniors Self-Contained Apartments are available in Alliance, Alix, Bashaw, Bawlf, Bentley, Blackfalds, Bowden, Camrose, Daysland, Eckville, Ferintosh, Forestburg, Galahad, Hardisty, Heisler, Innisfail, Killam, Lacombe, Lougheed, Millet, Mirror, New Norway, Penhold, Strome, and Wetaskiwin.
Providing affordable room and board for seniors, The Bethany Group manages 474 spaces, including: Autumn Glen Lodge (Innisfail), Bashaw Meadows (Bashaw), Big Knife Lodge (Forestburg), Eckville Manor House (Eckville), Lacombe Senior Citizens Lodge (Lacombe), Peace Hills Lodge (Wetaskiwin), Rosealta Lodge (Camrose), and West Pine Lodge (Winfield).

The preferred choice of today’s rapidly expanding retirement population, life-lease living is an attractive option offering a sense of community, homogeneous lifestyle, independence, and the availability of services to response to an individual’s changing needs.
With 80 totally self-contained suites that range from studio to two-bedroom designs, Deer Meadows, in Camrose, offers suites with a fully equipped kitchen with fridge and stove, easy wheelchair accessibility and a sit-down shower.
