Educational Outreach
Education Outreach provides no-fee education sessions for staff in all three streams of the Continuing Care System. Thirty-five modules have been developed for face-to-face and/or telehealth. Examples include: ABCs of Behaviour Management, Common Forms of Dementia, Creating a Therapeutic Relationship, Depression in the Elderly, Retrogenesis and Schizophrenia.
In recognition of the need for education for regulated health care professionals and the need for supporting transfer of knowledge, the most comprehensive program was determined to be the P.I.E.C.E.S. program from Ontario.
In conjunction with the P.I.E.C.E.S. Education Program, TIPS provides timely fax or e-mail advice on clinical and educational problems to those participating in P.I.E.C.E.S. A cadre of experts provides the practical TIPS responses and advice for thinking through complex problems.
We also encourage you to visit our TIPS Library, which contains a database of over 150 questions and answers on a variety of topics. In addition, after you have worked through the ABCC Model and you need additional information, please submit a TIPS question, we will provide you with an answer as soon as possible.
For additional information, check out the Education Opportunities.
