Bethany Meadows
Aspen/Birch, Oak/Maple and Cedar/Willow Cottages
Located in Camrose, these six cottages at Bethany Meadows provide continuing care to 65 residents. The cottages each have an open-concept common area where residents share meals and socialize. The spacious resident rooms are homelike and have plenty of natural light. A friendly staff work hard to make residents feel at home and support them in everyday life.
Eligibility
Admission to Continuing Care is determined by the Alberta Health Services Placement Process based on health, residential, and personal care needs. Eligibility is based on:
- meeting the criteria for the Continuing Care Program
- a need for skilled daily care and professional nursing assessment
- is the most appropriate housing and care setting available
Waitlists and placement are coordinated by Alberta Health Services and The Bethany Group.
Fee
The resident pays an accommodation fee which is set by Alberta Seniors and Community Supports. Services funded through accommodation fees include:
- meals and meal service
- laundering of towels and linens
- housekeeping services
- social and leisure activities
- utilities
- routine maintenance
If one qualifies, subsidies are available through the enhanced Alberta Seniors Benefit , through AISH (Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped) or Veterans Affairs www.seniors.gov.ab.ca
Services
The following health and personal care services are funded by Alberta Health and Wellness:
- nursing services
- personal care services
- recreational therapy
- physiotherapy and occupational therapy
- medications and medical-surgical supplies
- ambulance transportation for prescribed medical services
Roles and Responsibilities
The resident or appointed agent/guardian is responsible for:
- input into the Resident's Care Plan
- accommodation fees
- personal laundry services
- hair care
- personal goods and services
Family members/agents/guardians are responsible for:
- providing transportation for appointments and personal outings (e.g. doctor, dentist, entertainment, etc.)
- assisting in management of personal finances, if needed
- supporting resident’s social and emotional well-being
- communicating with The Bethany Group to assist and support the resident with his/her Care Plan, if required.
