Bethany Group

The Camrose and Area Lodge Authority (CALA)


The Camrose and Area Lodge Authority (CALA) was formed in 1995 under Ministerial Order as a Management Body. At the same time, The Bethany Group was granted Management body status.

The intent of the orders was for CALA to be responsible for three lodges and to have requisitioning authority for any deficits to operations, while The Bethany Group manages the lodges and be responsible and accountable to CALA for the operations.

•  Stoney Creek Lodge - 66 spaces
•  Rosealta Lodge - 65 spaces

Flagstaff Regional Housing Group (FRHG)

Established in 1973, the Flagstaff Regional Housing Group (FRHG) is a non-profit, provincially-mandated foundation that provides safe and secure housing to low and moderate income seniors in Flagstaff County.

In 2011, The Bethany Group was invited by the FRHG Board of Directors to assume CEO responsibilities. By pooling resources, both organizations are able to develop capacity, take on new levels of responsibility, and respond better as a larger regional body.

Lacombe Foundation

For the past 50 years, the Lacombe Foundation - a public management body, under the province of Alberta – has provided safe and affordable housing, as well as support to improve the quality of life for seniors and families in the communities of Lacombe County.

In 2011, The Bethany Group assumed management functions for the Lacombe Foundation, reporting to the Board of Directors.

Rimoka Housing Foundation

Created under the Homes for the Aged Act in 1959, the Rimoka Foundation provides seniors and social housing services in the County of Ponoka, the Town of Ponoka, and the Town of Rimbey.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, The Bethany Group assumed management operations in 2011, acting as Chief Administrative Officer.

Wetaskiwin and Area Lodge Association (WALA)

Established in 1995 under a Ministerial Order, the Wetaskiwin and Area Lodge Authority (WALA) assumed management of all lodge and community housing operations in its area.

The Bethany Group later took over management and operations of the lodges, while reporting to WALA.

• Supportive Living Lodges – 117 spaces

• Peace Hills Lodge, Wetaskiwin - 79 spaces
• West Pine Lodge, Winfield - 38 spaces
